The Me-163 was a rocket-powered interceptor â€“ the only such aircraft to fly during World War II. Rocket power gave this fighter immense speed although ultimately itâ€™s success record proved unimpressive. With a range of only 25 miles, its overall use was further limited to point defense of high value targets. In combat it carried two 30mm cannons.
