During World War I, Austria-Hungary operated German P-class Zeppelins that were transferred from Germany to supplement their limited airship capability. These were used primarily for bombing missions over Italy and the Adriatic, though Austria-Hungary never developed a large independent Zeppelin fleet of its own and relied heavily on German airship support. Austria-Hungary designated the German Zeppelins they operated with the prefix “LZ” followed by a number, but in service they were more commonly referred to as “Luftschiffe” (airships). Within the Austro-Hungarian Navy, they were also given their own local designations beginning with “L” (for Luftschiff), such as LZ 81 being commissioned as L 11 in Austro-Hungarian service.
This 3D model depicts the LZ (German P-class) Zeppelin in 3D detail, including two versions: one with a stand, and one without.
