The Battle of the Atlantic, the longest continuous military campaign in World War II, ran from 1939 to the defeat of Nazi Germany in 1945, covering a major part of the Naval history of World War II. At its core was the Allied naval blockade of Germany, announced the day after the declaration of war, and Germany's subsequent counter-blockade. The campaign peaked from mid-1940 through to the end of 1943.

The Allies Strike Back
On the first turn that the USA is at war with Germany. (Either A German or USA DOW), Germany announces Operation “Drumbeat”. the German player immediately places one submarine in Sea Zones 41 and 72, respectively. The USA cannot defend these SZs and immediately surrenders 5 IPPs to the bank. Germany cannot attack any USA surface ships or subs with those subs. On Germany’s next turn, those two subs must be sailed back to the closest Axis controlled port. They cannot be attacked at this time. Nor can they attack.
On the USA player’s turn, he/she can place one free sub chaser and one free destroyer escort off the American Eastern seaboard. Great Britain can place one free corvette off the Eastern Coast of Canada and one free Destroyer Escort off the British Isles.
