Introducing the Advanced Technology Expansion
Created in collaboration with a third-party designer, Historical Board Gaming (HBG) is thrilled to bring you this Advanced Technology Expansion. Designed to amplify the already riveting technological component of Global War Version 3, this expansion aims to add historical depth and a fresh array of strategic options for each participating nation. Optimal Gameplay Scenario: While this expansion seamlessly integrates with the 1936 scenario, we also offer an optional rule for those interested in the 1939 setting.
Technology Tree Mechanics
Your journey into new technologies is modeled as a branching tree. Upon reaching stage 2 in any technology, players have the choice to roll for one or both of the advanced technologies accessible at stage 3. For instance, if you've achieved stage 2 in Artillery, you can opt to roll for either stage 3 of Advanced Artillery, Heavy Artillery, or both. Note that pursuing both technologies in the same branch will necessitate one major factory for each.
Exception: Heavy Jet Bombers
To unlock the option to roll for Heavy Jet Bombers, you must first complete two distinct technologies.
Global War 1939 Optional Rule
For players venturing into the 1939 scenario, each major power will commence the game with six turns' worth of technology research already conducted for each major industrial complex in the initial 1939 setup.
