Manchukuo served as a puppet state under the dominion of the Japanese Empire. Established in 1931 following the contrived Mukden Incident, which was falsely presented as an act of Chinese aggression, the real aim of Japan was to exploit the abundant mineral wealth of the region known as Manchuria. The Japanese undertook an ambitious program to bring a large influx of settlers to the area for colonization and agricultural development. During the period of Japanese occupation, Manchukuo's industrial base experienced rapid expansion. Cities were modernized, factories were constructed, and railway networks were extensively developed. From 1938 to 1942, approximately 200,000 Japanese farmers migrated to Manchukuo. After the Soviet invasion of the region in 1945, reports indicate that around 850,000 Japanese settlers were captured and repatriated. Japan utilized Manchuria as a springboard for war, developing the industry and infrastructure necessary to support their planned conquest of Asia.
Q:
Is Manchukuo a controlled minor country, or are they aligned and just use different pieces? I noticed 1.1 says they are Japanese aligned, but then 1.2 makes it sound like they are controlled. I mostly ask because I'm trying to figure out if Manchukuo has their own separate income and production than Japan does.
