HBG Customer House Rule:
UK Principality of Sealand - For our house rules, I use a set of old Fortress America pieces which I used as alien invaders (loosely modeled on Turtledove). Useful, but no ships, again like Turtledove. By allowing the aliens to land platforms at sea, and base units there, I can have the invaders contest the oceans while maintaining the tenor of the game.
Sealand platforms costs 8 Can only be built in a coastal territory with an IC Movement of 0 but can be towed by 2x transport ships at a rate of 2 sea zones per round Once anchored, platform can be occupied by infantry or artillery (delivered by transports), or helicopter units, maximum of 2 units. These units can engage enemy vessels which enter/transit the sea zone, and must be destroyed for enemy units to “clear” the sea zone. Platform itself has no defense value and need not be destroyed to “clear” the sea zone.
