Swedish pbv 302 Infantry Fighting Vehicle

Sweden’s Pansarbandvagn 302 was a tracked armored personnel carrier developed during the Cold War. It transported infantry under armor and carried an automatic cannon for supporting fire, giving Swedish mechanized units a vehicle suited to national defense requirements. The type entered service in the 1960s and was later modified over its long career. A 20mm cannon in a small turret distinguished the vehicle from lightly armed troop carriers. The Pbv 302 served the Swedish Army for decades and supported Swedish overseas deployments. Its development preceded the CV90 infantry-fighting-vehicle family, which represented a later and more heavily armed generation. Its service also included specialized support variants.
