Description
CSA Marine
A Confederate States marine in a later world-war setting represents an alternate-history continuation of the Confederacy rather than a historical twentieth-century service branch. The real Confederate Marine Corps belonged to the American Civil War and ceased to exist with the defeat of the Confederacy. A later uniform, weapon, or expeditionary role therefore imagines institutions that did not develop in actual history. That distinction allows the subject to be described without inventing real deployments, campaigns, or operational traditions after 1865.
The historical Confederate marines supported a small wartime navy under severe resource constraints. Extending that institution into a later world war requires a fictional political and industrial development, not merely changing the uniform of a real unit.
