IAI Eitan Drone

The IAI Eitan, also known as Heron TP, is a large Israeli uncrewed aircraft developed for long-endurance missions. Its turboprop configuration and substantial airframe distinguish it from smaller tactical drones. The system reflects the expansion of remotely operated surveillance platforms into tasks requiring extended time aloft and greater payload capacity. Its size permits equipment and endurance beyond the smallest tactical systems, but also increases the need for suitable airfields, ground support, and communications. As with other large drones, the operational system includes far more than the visible airframe. The Israeli Air Force introduced Eitan during 2010. The aircraft expanded Israel’s capacity for persistent, high-altitude reconnaissance alongside smaller Heron-family systems.
