Description

M752 Tactical Ballistic Missile Launcher

The American M752 was the tracked launcher associated with the MGM-52 Lance short-range ballistic-missile system. Based on the M548 automotive family, it provided mobility for a missile intended to support Cold War army operations, including a nuclear role. It belonged to a wider organization of transport, handling, communications, and command equipment rather than operating independently. Lance replaced earlier battlefield missile capabilities and was later withdrawn as doctrine and arms-control circumstances changed. The M752 designation identifies the launcher vehicle, not every support vehicle in the Lance system or the missile itself. NATO armies fielded Lance as a corps-level system with conventional and nuclear warhead options.
